About Me
I am coarse sand, salty hair, barefoot boardwalk, sunkissed shoulder soul. I am southern California — Mexican-American & tenacious as ever. I am the San Fernando Valley. I am Santa Monica. I am Downtown Los Angeles. I am happiest when the people I see are like the wild rice I eat - irregular, colorful, beautiful.
I am a trilingual, sustainability-focused, first-generation alumna of Dickinson College. I am a Posse Los Angeles and NSF-STEP scholar who received a Bachelors of Science in Earth Sciences with a concentration in Environmental Geology.
I participated in international research in Iceland, Canada, Cuba, New Zealand, France, and Peru. I attended both COP20 and COP21 under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Inspired by international perspectives on global climatic change, I studied abroad at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
I aspire to work in an engaging environment that fosters climate change education and outreach in historically underrepresented communities (i.e. communities of color, low-income communities, queer communities, etc.) by creating local community gardens, Farmer's Markets, and climate education workshops.
I enjoy black coffee, cacti, and longboards. Let’s talk about climate change or Ted Radio Hour.
